Class placement is based on ability rather than age. Children must master specific exercises (as outlined in our internal class curriculum) before being allowed to move to the next level.

Creative Movement (3 – 5 years)

This class introduces young children to the world of movement, music, and rhythm. Students will explore ballet stretches, rhythm and coordination exercises, easy ballet steps, and creative moves.

Dress Code: pink leotard, pink slippers, tights optional, no skirts, hair out of face.

Pre-Ballet (5 – 7 years) 

This class prepares the young body for ballet. Concentration is on ballet floor stretches, strengthening of the body, basic positions of feet and arms, small jumps and coordination exercises.

Dress Code: pink leotard and slippers, pink tights optional, no skirts, hair out of face.

Ballet I-A (7 -10 years)

Classes present the basics of classical ballet for first year students. Ballet floor stretches, basic positions and steps and first introduction to the primary barre exercises. Concentration is on proper stance and alignment.

Dress Code: white leotard, pink tights and slippers, no skirts, hair in a bun.

Ballet I-B (8 – 11 years)

This class is for the 2nd and 3rd year student or those who have reached the equivalent level. Focus is on primary barre exercises and proper stance and alignment.

Dress Code: light blue leotard, pink tights and slippers, no skirts, hair in a bun.

Ballet II-A (9 – 12 years)

Classes stress proper ballet technique and alignment for 3 and 4 year students or those who have reached the equivalent level. Emphasis is placed on gaining more strength and balance. Pre-pointe is introduced to students with sufficient strength.

Dress Code: lavender leotard, pink tights and slippers, black skirt optional, hair in a bun.

Ballet II-B (12+ years )

This class is designed for the 5 and 6 year student who is at an intermediate or advanced intermediate level. Pre-Pointe or Pointe is mandatory and students are requested to take two classes per week.

Dress code: black leotard, pink tights and slippers, black skirt optional, hair in a bun.

Ballet III (13 and older) 

The emphasis in this class is on detail and quality of movement, concentrating on developing each student’s individual artistry. Several years of pointe is required for this class.

Adult Ballet

Beginning, intermediate, advanced, and professional levels. (Any ballet apparell, no specific dress code.)

General Information

    • Students’ appearance in class must be neat at all times. Hair must be tied back.
    • Parents and students are requested to avoid disturbing any class in progress.
    • Public school cancellations are followed for inclement weather.
    • Missed classes can be made up within one month of the class missed.
    • Early drop-outs are not reimbursed.
    • Dancewear can be purchased at the studio
